Eye Patches: Which One Suits You – and How to Use Them Properly
Autumn means shorter nights, heating air and screens until late – and your eye area is usually the first place it shows. Hydrogel eye patches are one of the most popular small treats in our shop. This month we have a new one: the Beauty of Joseon Revive Under Eye Patch, and the Abib PDRN Retinal Eye Patch is back in stock. Here is what patches can do, how the three in our shop differ, and how to get the most out of them.
What eye patches can – and cannot – do
A hydrogel patch holds a concentrated essence against the skin for 15–20 minutes. Because it sits closely on the skin, the moisture cannot evaporate as quickly as with a cream. The result: a plumper, smoother and fresher-looking eye area – right away.
Be realistic, though: patches are a boost, not a replacement for your daily eye care. Dark circles caused by genetics or thin skin will not disappear. And collagen in a patch hydrates the surface of the skin – it does not replace your skin's own collagen.
Three patches, three strengths
New: Beauty of Joseon Revive Under Eye Patch Ginseng + Retinal – the patch version of the popular Revive Eye Serum. The base is ginseng root water, plus retinal, bakuchiol, collagen, adenosine and ceramide NP. Fragrance-free. A good choice if fine lines are your main topic.
Back in stock: Abib PDRN Retinal Eye Patch Glow Jelly – combines niacinamide, caffeine, PDRN (sodium DNA), hyaluronic acid and a small amount of retinal. The caffeine makes it our tip for puffy mornings.
Mixsoon Collagen Hydrogel Eye Patch – no retinal, but hydrolyzed collagen, several peptides, niacinamide and panthenol. The gentlest of the three – ideal if your skin is sensitive or if you already use a retinoid elsewhere.
All three come with 60 patches in the jar – that is 30 uses.
How to use them properly
- On clean, dry skin, before serum and cream. Take them out with a clean spatula or freshly washed hands so the jar stays hygienic.
- 15–20 minutes is enough. Do not leave them on until they dry out.
- Afterwards, pat in the remaining essence and continue with your eye cream or moisturiser.
- Two to three times a week is plenty – or before a special day.
- Against puffiness: keep the jar in the fridge and use the patches in the morning.
- Patches with retinal (Beauty of Joseon, Abib) are best used in the evening – and on those evenings do not also use a strong retinol serum around the eyes. Wear sunscreen the next morning, and do not use retinal products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
And for every day?
Patches work best together with a daily eye product. The Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum Ginseng + Retinal is the matching partner to the new patches for your evening routine.
